Parade around Plaza de Armas

While nursing a hangover with a greasy breakfast, we ran into a parade around the Plaza. From what I gather this parade was about the different regions in Cusco.

Lydia and Celia 2

Celia had invited us to her home for dinner last night. She made chuleta which is something like a porkchop; it was excellent. Her home was also amazing, it was a giant three stories with a sauna, built in bar, music room, and fish pond... There is clearly some very uneven distribution of wealth in Peru. After dinner we washed down our chuleta with some whisky - A very good night.

Collin is Here!

Collin is finally here in Cusco! Owen and I picked him up from the airport in the morning by taxi. Owen was still drunk from the night before and had birthday cake in his hair and smelled of smoke. It was entertaining to see him in such a state at least.

Bed Bugs :(

I'm pretty sure that I have bed bugs, having a cluster of 5 bites on my inner arm. My brother has it and so does his roommate, and it's a pretty common thing here unfortunately. Fortunately there are pharmacies everywhere, and was told to get this powder. I guess you have to sprinkle it on your bedding and leave it in the sun for a few hours - a sooo I'm hoping this works....

Pictures in Taxis

I have a lot of them so far, so I've decided to put them up. I really love the taxis here, there are so many of them and a ride almost anywhere in the city isn't more than 3 soles. It makes getting around so easy, especially when you don't know the language well and have a very poor sense of direction.

Cusco Food and Drink 2

Street lined with second had clothing shops.

I have no idea why this costume was there, so random. One part of the meter is about sharting.

Market

Man fixing the road.

This beer was really good.

Today we checked out a bunch of second hand clothing stores for some Second Halloween Party going on Friday (13th). My brother found the most appropriate costume the fartometer, I found a Spam sweatshirt. Then we had ceviche for lunch, probably the best ceviche I've ever had, mine had shrimp, lobster, scallop, and fish. My brother was kind of scared to get the S/. 5 version ( and I totally agree ), so we paid a little extra for better quality. The whole meal for the 2 of us including beer and appetizer was $25 equivalent.

Finally in Cusco

In the taxi

My little brother ( I made him carry my bag )

Bros apt

The view from his patio

After three flights, a lot of waiting around in airports, and an adventure ride in a Cusco taxi, I finally made it to my little brother's place. It's a pretty cool apartment with a great view of the city. So far the altitude sickness hasn't hit me yet, but I'm feeling pretty exhausted after a day and a half of traveling. Ok, I'm taking a nap now.
